Claire Cusack lives in a world inspired by ordinary objects. Whether traveling abroad or across Texas, she invariably finds meaningful “trash” that she transforms into sculptures. Her materials are often gathered from urban intersections, rural roads, beaches, old garages, or railroad tracks. The objects themselves suggest unusual pairings or methods of assembly. Instead of glue, Cusack relies on furniture-making techniques that mask construction and ensure a simplicity of design.
