My painting style is semi-abstracted, expressionist, with occasional graphic elements. Ultimately, I believe that all art or depiction of ‘things’ is abstract. I do not seek to accurately depict objects in the world: I wish to offer an alternative view that takes the viewer to a new or different perspective of something ordinary.

I worked in lots of different jobs so I could travel when I was younger. I’ve been a grave digger, an archaeological technician, a grass cutter, a tree planter, a charity CEO, a Fair Isle knitwear designer and producer, a building laborer and in fish processing factories. I travelled widely and had some fantastic adventures as a result, which often inspires my work.
