The Bayou Beacon is an environmental light sculpture that expresses the fluctuating water flows of White Oak Bayou. Houston’s Bayous are dynamic water bodies that define our city’s ecology. This public artwork aims to open a dialogue about the Bayous as shifting, resilient ecological infrastructure.
View the illuminated work at dusk from the sidewalk near the guard tower at 2000 Edwards Street on the Sawyer Yards campus. Opening November 1st. This project is supported in part by the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and the Houston Arts Alliance.
