Visual Arts Alliance 39th Juried Open Exhibition


The Visual Arts Alliance presents our 90th juried exhibition in Houston, the 39th Juried Open Exhibition, beginning March 27 through May 13 at Sabine Street Studios, 1907 Sabine Street, Houston, TX 77007. Our distinguished juror for the 39th Open is Heidi Vaughan of Heidi Vaughan Fine Art, and we will have juror awards presented at the Opening Reception, Wednesday, April 5. The event begins at 6:00 pm with awards at 7:00 pm. 

Heidi Vaughan owns Heidi Vaughan Fine Art, an art gallery in the Upper Kirby Galleries and is a member of the Houston Art Gallery Association in Houston, Texas. The gallery represents Texas artists, with a special emphasis on those based in Houston.

Ms. Vaughan is a fine art dealer and credentialed appraiser who holds a Master’s Degree in Art History from the University of Houston. She has worked in a professional capacity with many art museums in Houston, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Blaffer Art Museum, and the Byzantine Fresco Chapel Museum, formerly part of the Menil Collection, and others across Texas. She has consulted on thousands of works of art and fine art objects from corporate, institutional, and private clients. She is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers in Fine Art. She also serves s Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Houston Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization that oversees the care and maintenance of many of Houston’s most iconic public sculptures.

Visual Arts Alliance (VAA) is an educational organization for practitioners of the visual arts and interested members of the general public. Founded in Houston, TX in 1981, VAA is an all-volunteer run, 501(c)3, nonprofit organization. In addition to educational and recreational programs, VAA produces professionally juried art exhibitions providing opportunities for members and non-members to have their work professionally judged and viewed by the public.
