University of Houston MFA: Photography & Video

The University of Houston's Photo & Video MFA Candidates are pleased to present new work in conjunction with the FotoFest International Biennial. Through a three-year program that includes a studio-intensive environment, professional development and teaching experience, the Photo & Video department MFA Candidates develop their practices in deeply considered and dynamic ways.

Our practices navigate complex, personal, and environmental ideas related to the present. We are constantly experimenting with the possibilities of photography and its applied forms, working through ideas, materials, and processes to identify what holds resonance within our individual practices. The work presented in this exhibition is a showcase of our current research and explorations, representing a significant moment in our careers and at the same time, allowing us to look toward the future.
