The Texas chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art presents their first juried exhibit, Through Her Eyes at the 200 Gallery of the Silos building at Sawyer Yards. The exhibit is juried by Heidi Vaughan, a well-known curator and art appraiser, and owner of Heidi Vaughan Fine Art Gallery. 44 works in various media created by members of the National Women’s Caucus for Art feature both local artists and artists from across the United States. Join us for the opening reception on June 13, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Heidi Vaughan will be speaking about her vision and methods, as well as her passion for women artists.
The Texas chapter is part of the National Women’s Caucus for Art, an organization dedicated to the support of women art professionals since the early 1970’s, with a current membership of over 1000. The current Texas chapter was established about 5 years ago and has members from across the state. For more information about the exhibit and organization go to www.texwca.org.
Through Her Eyes is on view Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The building is closed on Sunday. Parking is free in the lots in the front, side, and back of the building. This exhibition was made possible by a grant from the Houston Arts Alliance.
