What if a painting could tell two stories at once?

Join us for an intimate evening with Houston mixed-media artist Stacy Gresell as part of our Studio Conversations series at Restoration Studio.

Stacy is known for her encaustic and mixed-media work, transforming recycled materials, vintage objects, maps, found treasures, and handmade frames into pieces that invite viewers to look closer and see things differently.

As a communication professor, Stacy encourages her students to consider multiple perspectives, and that same curiosity shows up throughout her artwork. Familiar objects take on new meaning. Layers reveal themselves slowly. Light changes what you see depending on where you stand.

During our conversation, Stacy will share her creative journey, her love of found objects, the stories hidden within recycled materials, and how curiosity, perspective, and transformation shape her work.

Following the conversation, participants will create their own mixed-media piece inspired by Stacy's process of layering materials, ideas, and stories.
