Christmas Made Slowly: A Holiday Art & Craft Experience in Houston

Step away from the holiday rush and into a warm, nostalgic evening of making, gathering, and remembering at Restoration Studio in Sawyer Yards.

Christmas Made Slowly is a two-hour immersive holiday creative experience built around something many of us miss this time of year: making things with our hands simply because it feels good to make them.

The studio will be transformed for the season with twinkle lights, Christmas music, warm wassail, Christmas cookies, beautiful materials, and four thoughtfully curated creative stations.

There is no single project everyone has to complete. No artistic experience is needed. Move through the studio at your own pace, follow what catches your eye, and make as much or as little as you like.

Heirloom Sequin Ornament

Create the kind of ornament you might hope to discover in an old Christmas box years from now.

Choose an ornament form and layer it with sequins, beads, pearls, ribbon, tiny bells, and beautiful details. Go gloriously retro, quiet and elegant, or somewhere entirely your own.

Because handmade things carry memory differently.

Paper Star Atelier

Turn beautiful paper into something dimensional, delicate, and full of light.

Choose from vellum, sheet music, metallic, handmade, and other beautiful papers, then fold your own holiday stars. Follow one of our examples or experiment with your own combinations, sizes, and layers.

Perfect folds aren't the point. Even imperfect stars catch the light.

Remember paper chains around the Christmas tree?

We've reimagined that simple tradition with beautiful papers, vintage-inspired prints, sheet music, vellum, ribbon, beads, bells, tags, and unexpected little details.

Build a handmade garland that feels collected rather than manufactured—something worthy of coming out of the Christmas box year after year.

🍊 SCENT & SEASON
Botanical Christmas

Christmas has always been carried through the senses: citrus, evergreen, cinnamon, clove, wood, and warm spice.

Gather dried orange, greenery, cinnamon, rosemary, cedar, bay, cloves, star anise, wooden beads, velvet ribbon, twine, bells, and other natural elements to create a botanical Christmas ornament or hanging scent bundle.

Let the texture, color, and scent become part of the memory.

This isn't a traditional craft class.

Restoration Studio is built around process, not performance; exploration, not expectation.

We'll give you beautiful materials, examples, simple instructions, and short tutorials when you need them. Then we'll give you room to wander.

Spend most of the evening covering an ornament in sequins. Make a constellation of paper stars. String a garland while talking with a friend. Gather a few botanicals and sit with your wassail for a while.

You don't have to finish all four stations. You don't have to make anything perfectly.

The point is to slow down enough to enjoy making again.
