Candis Smith: Social Interactions

visit website

Artist Candis Smith presents Social Interactions, a new exhibition in the Bay 300 Gallery of the Silos at Sawyer Yards studio building.

Inspired by social interactions of people over time, Smith visits venues such as diners and retro themed restaurants and bars to gain motivation and creative insight. She also enjoys searching for images of musicians and dancers, from which she creates her own scenes. Her style is her own form of impressionism, characterized by energetic brushwork applied in small, quick strokes which captures the light and color from nature.

Candis Smith has been fascinated all of her life with fine art, specifically painting and drawing. She studied Fine Art at Tulane University in New Orleans and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art. She is currently enjoying a rebirth and has entered into a new phase after many turns in the road along her career path which took her in and out of corporate America. Smith continues to refine her skills, and has studied at the Glassell School of Art in Houston and the Chelsea Classical Studios in New York. Smith currently operates a studio (#313) in The Silos at Sawyer Yards in Houston.
