Women in the Visual and Literary Arts (WiVLA) is proud to present "RISE", a juried visual art exhibition celebrating strength, transformation, and creative resilience. The show will open with a public reception on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 6-9pm at Sabine Street Studios in Houston, Texas.
Juried by Houston-based artist and curator Fran Ellisor, RISE brings together powerful works by women artists across various disciplines, highlighting narratives of renewal, growth, and perseverance. This dynamic showcase is a reflection of both individual and collective rising—from personal struggles to societal shifts—expressed through a range of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and more.
Founded in 1994, Women in the Visual and Literary Arts (WiVLA) is a Houston-based nonprofit organization that supports and promotes women artists and writers through exhibitions, readings, workshops, and collaborative opportunities.
