Lucia Narvaez: Soulful Gaze

Sawyer Yards presents Soulful Gaze, a solo exhibition of figurative works by Silos artist, Lucía Narváez. Born in the city of Monterrey, México, Lucía is an artist and linguist who has called Houston home for the last 20 years. Narváez' unique style employs heavy, intentional gestures, and bold brushstrokes to create a sense of drama, and emotional atmosphere. She writes of her artistic process:

"My process embodies freedom - a form of liberation, healing, and connection. I don’t meticulously plan a painting or strive for perfect lines. I start with an idea of what I want to create, but as soon as I see a pair of eyes looking back at me or a figure emerging, I let the brush take the lead."

The exhibition will occupy Bay 300 Gallery, in the east end of the Silos at Sawyer Yards studio building. Join the artist for a reception in the gallery on January 6, from 5-7pm.
