Live Photo Session: Trenzas – Woven with Pride and Resistance
- Saturday, Jul 18, 2026 12pm - 5pm
Fresh Arts Gallery, Winter Street Studios C105
Rooted in Indigenous and Mesoamerican traditions, Trenzas explores the braid as a symbol of ancestry, memory, and resilience. Community members of Mesoamerican ancestry are invited to participate in a live portrait session honoring women who wear ribboned braids as expressions of cultural pride, identity, and resistance. Participants are encouraged to bring a meaningful object connected to their family history and cultural memory.
Visitors are also invited to witness the live portrait session as it unfolds, leave reflections on the gallery walls, and create a self-portrait at the Polaroid selfie station.
In collaboration with La Chingona Collab.
