Live Photo Session: Latinx Music Subcultures
- Saturday, Jul 25, 2026 12pm - 5pm
Fresh Arts Gallery, Winter Street Studios C105
This is a community photo series celebrating the diversity of Latinx music subcultures. From rockabilly and goth/darkwave to mariachi, metal, and Tejano communities, this project documents the many spaces where Latinx communities have always existed and contributed.
Community members of Mesoamerican ancestry are invited to participate in this live photo session. Participants are encouraged to bring a meaningful object like a photograph, textile, or personal item connected to their history, identity and cultural memory that ties to music.
Visitors are also invited to witness the live portrait session as it unfolds, leave reflections on the gallery walls, and create a self-portrait at the Polaroid selfie station.
