Ladies and Leaves

Carol Measom is a native Houstonian and divides her time between Houston and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.  She previously spent half of each year in Los Cabos, Mexico. The Mexican culture, the wildlife, the colors of the Sea of Cortez, and area desert have played a part in her art.

Carol's background includes graphic design from the Art Institute of Houston where she developed her creative skills. Carol was in charge of the marketing and design of her husband's technology company until their retirement in 2012.

In 2013, a chance meeting at her home in Mexico led Carol to a new friendship and a group of artists who painted together. She accepted an invitation to a weekly painting group, and it opened a whole new world for her.  Not only did she make new friends,  but she was inspired to start painting.

In 2015, a new friendship with a Houston artist helped propel Carol's art and change her whole trajectory.  She went from selling paintings to friends to being a full-fledged artist with a studio of her own.

Carol's art is currently featured in monthly public shows in both Houston and Coeur d’Alene.   Her work is in private collections in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, and Mexico.
