In Lieu of Words is an exhibition that highlights the human need to tell a story or bring to life a liminal space. Here, the beauty in a gaze, the loss of a loved one, or the longing of a distant homeland can be felt even when words fall short. In these works, the visual elements become quiet narrators; cathedral ceilings, ripples in the water, trees, and skies evoke all the emotions we struggle to name. This collection of artwork comes from the talented artists at Spring Street Studios. 

The exhibition was curated by local artist and educator Sandra de la Rosa, and is on view through September 20 on the first and second floor of Spring Street Studios. Join the artists for a public reception on Saturday, June 28, from 6-8pm.
