Matthew Gantt “Saint Sanguinaire, Seeker of Glory”

Echoes & Reflections

visit website

Continuing his artistic journey across the interior of the human psyche, Matthew Gantt presents his most recent body of work Echoes & Reflections and invites us to reflect on the themes of psychology, shamanism, and spirituality prevalent throughout his work. Echoes of the past are explored in several of his portraits where the original ink blots and line work are preserved, not just the scaffolding for the painting but the dynamic moment where the inspiration occurred. Matthew Gantt’s so-called “Constellationism” certainly continues to find new ways to fascinate with his endless array of psychedelic portraiture.

Matthew Gantt is a surrealist artist who specializes in rendering mythopoetic portraits from our collective unconscious by random application of media and his hyperactive pattern recognition for personae-driven imagery, a process he calls “Constellationism”.

Matthew works out of studio #213 at Silver Street Studios in Houston, Texas where he is constantly exploring the infinite worlds within and what secrets they may share.
