The University of Houston’s Undergraduate Photo & Video thesis exhibition showcases the work of fourteen emerging artists exploring the full spectrum of contemporary photographic practice.

Spanning traditional photography, alternative process, digital manipulation, video, and experimental installation, the exhibition reflects the fluid nature of image-making today. Before We Head Home marks a pivotal moment in these artists' lives as they move from academic study into independent creative practice. Their projects reveal both individual vision and a collective interest in pushing photography beyond its expected forms. This exhibition celebrates their technical skill, curiosity, and willingness to challenge conventions, offering a snapshot of what the next generation of image-makers bring to the field.
