Cora Salvino’s work masterfully combines meticulous craftsmanship with innovative design, resulting in pieces that both glow with internal luminance and evoke a profound tactile sensation. Each sculpture surpasses traditional boundaries, inviting viewers to explore the interplay between translucency and structure, shadow, and reflection. Bay 300 Gallery at the Silos provides a stunning backdrop for this showcase, located within the Sawyer Yards artist community and the vibrant Houston Arts District.
About the Artist:
Cora Salvino is a Houston-based self-taught fused glass artist whose work centers on bringing out the interaction of light and glass. She earned her Medical Degree (MD) and worked for over forty years as an OB/GYN while also doing glass artwork as a side activity that brought her joy and stress relief. Now that she is retired as a physician, she is devoting her time to further exploring her glass art.
Salvino has been active in the art scene in Houston, participating in multiple group and juried shows. She maintains a studio at Sawyer Yards (Silos #122) where she also exhibits her artwork.
