Stop by Casa de Cultura during Sawyer Yards' Second Saturday to experience three culturally vibrant activities running simultaneously throughout the afternoon. (1) Explore Violeta's solo exhibition: Luz y Sombra (on view until August 6); (2) Connect with a curated selection of local Chicanx creatives selling artwork, prints, and handmade goods; (3) and take part in Danza, Guardians of Ancestral Tradition Live Photo Sessions.
Danza, Guardians of Ancestral Tradition Live Photo Sessions feature members of Itzcoatl Tezkatlipoka Aztec Danza. Fellow Danza community members are invited to participate in this live photo session honoring the living tradition and the people who carry it forward. Participants are invited to bring a meaningful object connected to their family history and cultural memory.
Visitors are also invited to witness the live portrait session as it unfolds, watching the archive come to life in real time.
