I believe all humans have the ability to draw, just as all humans can learn math or languages. There is nothing magical about drawing. It is a skill. Some are better at it than others, but all are capable. Most people stop drawing at around 11 or 12, and this is where their artistic skills remain. Drawing is the foundation for all forms of art, including painting. My art classes aim to reactivate that part of your brain to start “seeing” the world again with your right brain and give you the skills to bring your artwork to a place of beauty.

My adult education classes are designed for serious hobby painters who want to learn the fundamental techniques of drawing and painting. Ages 15+. Each quarterly session consists of 7 weekly lessons, with no other commitment.

We will be drawing and painting, with a focus on classic drawing exercises and painting demos. We will first learn to draw the subject, and the rest will be painted. A variety of drawing mediums will be explored throughout a given year, and watercolor or oil paints will be the painting mediums.
