Edgar Medina is a contemporary abstract artist whose work explores memory, movement, and emotional resilience through layered color, texture, and mark-making. His practice is rooted in process — embracing repetition, intuition, and discipline as tools for both creation and self-reflection.
Drawing inspiration from travel, personal history, and lived experience as an immigrant, Medina’s paintings balance structure and spontaneity. Each piece becomes a visual archive — capturing moments of stillness, tension, and release through bold compositions and subtle detail.
Working primarily with mixed media and acrylics on large-scale canvases, Medina creates work that is meant to be lived with — offering viewers space to slow down, reflect, and find their own meaning within the layers.
His work has been collected and commissioned by corporate offices, private collectors, and community organizations, and he continues to expand his practice through travel-inspired series and site-responsive installations.
